GRP PIPES AND FITTINGS
Ariakavan Sharqh Atlas Iranian Company is a producer of composite pipes (fiberglass) which has many advantages such as very high resistance against all types of corrosion, high hydraulic capacity, long life, low maintenance and operation costs, ease and speed of transportation. and installation due to their light weight, no need for inner plating and outer coating to protect against corrosion, and they have a variety of production, so there are many different uses for them. It is obvious that the chemical and mechanical characteristics of fiberglass pipes are determined according to the type of application and the conditions of each design, including the characteristics of the passing fluid, the temperature of the fluid and the environment, the chemical characteristics of the soil, the working pressure, etc. The resin and fibers used are determined.
A: Fiberglass pipes in the water and sewage industry and chemicals are produced with raw materials including GRP polyester resin or GRV or GRVE vinyl ester resin and with or without silica sand and continuous and cut glass fibers.
B: These pipes are made in three ways: continuous spiral fibers, discontinuous spiral fibers and centrifugal.
C: In another place, the advantages of using epoxy resin and the application and advantages of GRE pipes will also be described.
D: The mechanical properties and curing resin of GRVE pipes are similar to GRP pipes, and only the chemical and thermal resistance of these pipes is more than GRP pipes, but the price of vinyl ester resin is 3 to 4 times that of polyester resin.
GRP pipes can be used instead of simple and double-walled polyethylene pipes, carrogate or spiral in the water and sewage transportation industry.
The advantages of this pipe compared to PE pipes are as follows:
A- The stiffness of these pipes is 8 times the stiffness of PE pipes, and for example, a GRP pipe with a stiffness of 10 kilopascals is equivalent to a polyethylene pipe with a stiffness of 80 kilopascals, in other words, a GRP pipe is 8 times as strong as a PE pipe. To withstand the external load caused by dead and live loads.
explain :
1- The standard maximum stiffness of GRP pipes is 10 kilopascals and the maximum standard stiffness of double-walled PE pipes is 32 kilopascals, while the number 32 becomes 4 kilopascals after converting the standards (division by 8) which is also in the country It is not accessible.
2- In addition, PE pipes can only be produced up to 4 kilopascals (32 kilopascals according to DIN 16961 standard) in the world, and this amount is only available in Iran up to 2 kilopascals (16 kilopascals according to DIN 16961 standard).
3- GRP pipes can easily be produced up to 80 kilopascals (10 kilopascals according to ISO 7685 and ISO9969 standards) and they can be buried up to 16 meters deep underground.
Therefore, to install GRP pipes, there is no need to dig tunnels with a large diameter, and there is no need for Chinese chairs and roofing with wooden beams.
B- The installation and connection of these pipes can be done quickly and easily, and there is no need for butt welding in these pipes.
C- The ring stiffness of these pipes remains constant for about 100 years, while the ring stiffness of PE pipes decreases with the increase in life, and in less than 10 years, under the pressure of the soil, they gradually become double-wide and oval, and even their wall collapses. to be
D- The advantages of these pipes compared to asbestos or concrete pipes do not need to be explained and it is very clear that the cement that forms the raw material of the mentioned pipes has no resistance against the inorganic sulfuric acid present in the sewage and it dissolves quickly. .
E- For transporting drinking water, asbestos, concrete and metal pipes are unsanitary due to the presence of asbestos particles and eroded particles and iron rust in them.
F- GRP pipes provide the same resistance at 40 degrees below zero as they do at 50 degrees Celsius above zero, while PE pipes become very brittle and brittle at 5 degrees and below.
G - Experience has shown that PE pipes in the country are not produced from the best materials and they often rot quickly against water and sewage, while the products of this company have sufficient guarantees.
